So, apparently Laela is kind of crazy. I guess Laela mentioned being bad at math, so Gloria said I could help her since I'm a math major, and now Laela thinks I'm working with Gloria. WTF?
So, Gloria told me this, and Ben also independently told me that Laela doesn't trust me. I guess Laela wanted to form a group with Zoe and Ben.
Ben and I have agreed to work together.
Laela thinks that Gloria, Chad, Beau, Stephanie and Tina are working together, as well as possibly me.
If Laela is already telling people she doesn't really trust 6 people on her tribe, I don't know how she is expecting to go far.
I told Ben that if we stay subtle and just keep our ears open I think we can do well.
Personally, I think we'll probably go with Gloria, because Laela is being kind of crazy. But I could see Gloria pulling a Laela down the line.
I'm liking where I'm sitting right now.

Oh, but Gloria did mention that Laela noticed her looking for the idol or something. So, that's important.

Holy shit, Gloria just showed me the idol. Yes! If I convince Ben to come along with us, then if we get near the end I've got two super solid allies. This is a great start to the game.

Thanks Dom. I think I can't help myself in the challenges, so maybe I'll just try to lay low socially for a while. 1. Who do you consider to be your core allies? Ben and Gloria are who I want to play the game with. Unfortunately, Ben might be a bit close to Laela. I'm hoping the numbers will be stacked against Laela, and I can convince Ben just to not go against the grain. 2. What official alliances are you in, if any? "Official"? What is this, Survivor: Bureaucracy? "Once the votes are read, we'll have our lawyers look over them to make sure all names are spelled correctly and the appropriate boxes are checked. Then we'll decide who's going based on a combination of factors including but not limited to the number of votes cast for each person". Seriously though, I think I'm in with Ben and Gloria, but I don't think they're in good with each other. Also, I should get to know other people. I've got school though, and I don't like spending all my free time on here (introvert alert, socializing is tiring), so I don't. 3. Who do you want to go this round (Reliquum) or next (Admonitio)? How am I supposed to decide who is supposed to go on the other tribe? I'm not even allowed to talk to them. Just have somebody play an idol and cause chaos and have everybody distrust each other. That would be good for me. On my tribe, I suppose I'd like Laela to go. I could potentially recover and get back in her graces, but when my options are Laela, who distrusts me, or Gloria, who showed me an idol, I know who I want on my side. I don't want to betray somebody with an idol for practically nothing. If I'm going to backstab someone, might as well get them out as soon as possible. Voting out Laela's allies will just keep her in the game and annoyed with me, although more annoyed with Gloria. Edit: Also, I single handedly came up with the winning strategy for this challenge in about 5 minutes. I beat a tribe of 11 with barely any effort. Who has two thumbs and is a challenge beast? This guy! (I'm not Cochran, so this isn't lovable, but whatever. I'm clever!  ) |

Just a quick update on the Laela situation. She told me that she was pretty sure Gloria had an idol and I was just shocked, SHOCKED, I tell ya'. Anyway, I asked her why, and she gave me good reasons (like that her fish disappeared, and that Gloria said she had guessed), and I agreed it was probable.
Now, I pretty much got Laela to agree to suck up to Gloria and Chad, and that we could go along for the ride. If this works out, I'll have two people who don't like each other each convinced that I'm their closest ally. and neither of them will have any reason to suspect me, because they'll both think I'm just playing the other one.
This is subtle and if it works out, I will feel totally brilliant. On a shorter term scale, if I can get them to vote together, then if there's a tribe mix up, they're less likely to turn on each other or me. Am I actually doing a good job? I think so. Happy days for Liam.
