It's been a fairly quiet episode for my tribe. Nothing has really changed, for me anyway. Bree hasn't been online at all and with everyone "getting along" it's been really stagnant.
I decided to go to Eden because I had nothing to lose and figured that any advantage is worth it. I knew things were quiet on our tribe so I figured any tick could be undetectable with me not being online for most of my "tick time." I think I was pretty successful, the tick itself wasn't too difficult.
I couldn't believe the prize I got. It was the last apple so I was hoping it would be good, but it was way better than expected! I have a sword but I can't use it on myself. Well, Mark has a sword which he can play on me so I think it's fantastic that we have two in our possession. I figure either Laela left with one or a favourite has it, so I am still going to keep an eye out. I know that Mark wants to find the last sword without a clue but I really think that would be a waste of time.
I worked really hard to play in the challenge. I think Gloria and Chad could tell I really didn't want to throw it, and I knew both at one point contemplated throwing it to take Bree out, but no way was I going to let a fan number down. I know the fans aren't solid but having any favourite advantage allows for the fans to be in a position to be outnumbered, and any risk needs to be avoided. The best way to win this game is to never be voted off. Some people approach the game differently, more offensively, thinking about voting off everybody, but I'd rather just avoid being voted off. It's also more offensive to play offensive (cute line there), which can hurt you in the end with jury votes. You burn less bridges when you're avoiding being voted off rather than actively trying to eliminate everyone else.
We won the challenge and I couldn't be happier. I really pushed Gloria to keep trying because she kept saying hers was too hard and she wanted to give up. I kept worrying she was just trying to throw it but I really pushed her and I think at that point, even if she wanted to throw it, she couldn't because I was really waiting for her to deliver. I wanted her to feel that if she threw it, she'd look bad, and looking bad is worse than getting rid of Bree. I think I accomplished my goal and we were safe. I can't be voted off if we don't go to judgment.
I was super happy to see Reliquum win the challenge also. I don't know anything about Admonitio but from what Gloria has told me they are a solid group and the boot order was somehow thrown off when Beau went home. Apparently they were all in an alliance for the most part, and Steph was in charge, so Beau going over Taylor and then Steph leaving really shows that the others are in charge and Gloria/Chad cannot trust that group. Furthermore, there seems to be a lot of Season 3 people left over there so I have been planting in Gloria & Chad's heads that Season 3 might be together. Simutaneously, I continue to tell them that I worry about the fans joining them because they are swayable and not very united. I want Gloria and Chad to think that the fans are not a unified group so that they will be more inclined to try and "get the fans together" to take out some of the Admonitio group. However, if they think the fans are together there is no way they will do that because they will be very outnumbered, so it's a matter of convincing them enough to think that they are more outnumbered with the Admonitio 4 remaining than with the "broken" remaining fans.
It is true that both Starr and Bree are not for a "fan" thing. I think Starr trusts Mark but besides him I think Starr will be happy to vote off Zac or Knox over Chad or Gloria. Starr is really fickle so I have to keep a major eye on her if we merge anytime soon. She tends to blow with the wind so I need to constantly check in with her to see if she is blowing off course. My course. I've lead Starr to the slaughter house the entire game, but I'm not quite ready to butcher the bloated beauty quite yet. Ah, gotta love the alliteration.
I have every intention of rejoining the Reliquum 3 boys if we merge anytime soon. I want to work with them. I'm not thrilled that Gabe left but I had my doubts with him for quite a while after I introduced him into the alliance, so that is one "worry" gone, even though I think in my heart I know Gabe would have stuck with us. I don't have as close a bond with Knox as I do with Mark and Zac, but I think it allows Zac to feel somewhat in control, and given he is an anxious type, I think Zac feeling safe in this group means Zac will stay with us. Knox has been on the outs so I think he feels secure with Zac and, having lasted so long on Reliquum, will stick with us. However, I do see him starting to play a little more cut-throat so my eye will be on Knox. I think he was a lot less devious and in charge than he hoped to be on Reliquum, so I could see him trying to make big, bold, devious moves prematurely for the sake of it, so I will definitely be monitoring that one and who he is speaking with.
I don't trust Chad still but I think Gloria has a handle on him, or at least relays information to me from him. Apparently he is worrying about the Admonitio alliance so I'm hoping that keeps him on my side. I don't think Chad wants to go far with me at all and I'm pretty sure he feels really frightened, so once Chad feels comfortable I'm positive he will start to make moves. I just hope I can keep Chad fearing Admonitio, and by the time Admonitio is dealt with, I will have to turn on him.
I do worry about Bree joining Admonitio but given her "real life" bond with Chad, I'm hoping Chad can keep her in check over anyone else. I also think Bree knows she screwed over Starr & I and will try to be loyal. I think less loyal with Starr because I believe she still hates her, but I have been very kind to her so I think Bree will be somewhat loyal to me, which is important.
If I can guarantee that a Favourite goes first in the first merge vote, whenever that will be, I'll be very pleased. It's 6 vs. 6 at this point and having them one down allows the opportunity to get the fans together. I think Starr wants Chad/Gloria/me plus one of Zac/Knox as a goat in the F5, and go to the F3 with myself, the goat fan, and her. Actually, I think Starr is too smart to take me to the very end so she would probably cut me loose before then, which is why I don't intend to take Starr to the very end unless she is completely powerless, in which case she would very much be a goat. However, with 2 idols, Mark & I could easily take this game if we get us 4 guys to the Final 9. It's a matter of making the right maneuvers and letting people think us 4 guys are not together. I don't know how the 3 guys will prove they aren't together but "3" appears to be a much less threatening number than "4 with 2 swords."
I'm really nervous but I have to keep pretending and working to Gloria that Admonitio is a problem and that the fans are no competition. I also hope to really work on the Admonitio group and find someone in there who feels on the outs a bit. If I can make any of them like me and trust that I "am looking for an ally" then I can hopefully pull someone away from there if Chad/Gloria/Starr/Bree screw around. If Selena/Taylor are on the outs of a Season 3 deal then I'll try my best to get them to trust me and be open with me. Everyone wants to feel they have someone they can trust who doesn't make you feel like you're at the bottom. I think that's one thing some of the fans have going for them, especially Mark and I: we're likeable.
I do intend to speak with Chad/Carly/Ben of course, but I think they're all smart people who could target me because they look at me as the "enemy," as I'm sure they view most of the fans. In case any of them have an idol I really cannot appear dangerous or capable of pulling off a coup. I think appearing likeable and non-threatening is the best way to go. I hope I can appeal to Liam but he is extremely intelligent. I hope Carly likes me because I think she plays with her heart a bit. Ben definitely does, although he certainly must have trust issues after Season 3.
That's where my head is at right now. We'll see how things shape up. The "event" for tonight has been cancelled and it's now a non-live challenge, so maybe it isn't a merge afterall. In which case, I hope to keep winning! As long as Mark and his idol make the merge, I'm pleased. I just can't risk going to judgment because I do fear Chad getting the others to vote me off for some reason. I don't think Bree or Starr would go for it, but you never know what could happen. With apples and idols, this is still anyone's game. I just hope I get the lucky bounces. I do believe there is a strong element of luck in this game. Fingers crossed.
