See? I told you. My sword was cocked and ready. Well, my sword is still cocked and ready but Thiago gave me his that he couldn't use on himself. But the fact remains, I knew something was amiss last night, though it had nothing to do with Starr or Zac. It had everything to do with Liam. I mean really...there comes a point in time to excell in this game that you have to throw some moral fiber out the window. I understand Liam doesn't want to make promises that are fake and that seem fake. Here's a memo: make them seem REAL. It totally baffles me that his first extension of grace to me was that I'll do better with the favorites. Nothing else. Are you kidding me? Make a false promise, dude...it's OKAY. Just be smart enough to make it sound legit. But even beyond that, he told me those nameless "people" don't trust me. I'll make this clear right now, when someone comes at me with info but can only back its source with "people", I'm already dismissing it as a lie or impertinent. When *I* come at someone with info, I shoot straight...or I make something up. It's that simple.
Anyway, I said all that that to say when Liam sent me that message, and after I followed up with "who are these *people*?", he totally read my message and ignored it. I went to bed that night knowing I was getting votes. I woke up the next morning with confirmation from Thiago because Gloria told him. Just as I knew, if anything was going to go down, it was going to pass through Thiago. Simple. He transfers his apple to me and I use it...and I still have a handy sword in my pocket.
The only real player in all of this is Chadwick, our walking penis with a brain. I'm still pretty convinced that he planned on sticking with Farrago to the end. I'm convinced that when Liam confronted him, he backtracked. But still, he had charmed Bree and Starr, and if they hadn't come to their senses, we could be in some real danger right about now. So that is why he needed to go. Also, there's that whole issue with Knox which is a whole other story of itself.
Knox did not want to vote for Chad, as revealed by his parchment. Apparantly he developed some higher morality, aka connection with Chad, that Carly needed to go because she was less invested and therefore not worthy of continuing on in the game. How noble and pious of him. I told him that Chad was pushing hardcore to get him out and here was the exact exchange between the two of us:
Knox: I'll have to ask Chad about that.
Me: (double take) Don't do that! Geeez!
Knox: Geez?
WHO DOES THAT CRAP?
Me: Seriously, Chad wants you out and he wants my vote to do it so he has the numbers to take down the rest of the Reliquum 3 and then turn on the faves.
And here's where it gets fun.
Knox: Hold on right there.
Excuse me?
Knox: I never said I was turning on anyone, nor did I say I was gonna vote away from what you guys are saying. You asked me what I WANTED to do, and I told you. That doesn't mean that's what I'm doing.
Valid point. But that doesn't excuse you needed to go stir up trouble and confront the person who's obviously playing this game hardcore...especially when you haven't really done anything around here to better your position but show up and do what we say.
Now watch, he'll be the one to do some major flip later on.
Anyway, instead of arguing and pushing him further, I concede.
Mark: My mistake.
He went on to say that just because I was feeling in trouble that I didn't need to be condescending. I just had to sigh. At the time I wasn't in trouble, he was. And for me to be acting on the defensive when he was like...oh well, I'd rather vote Carly because I'm a moral person. (liberal paraphrase, of course) It just all was maddening. Needless to say, I'm kind of done with Knox. I'll let Zac deal with him. I'd just as soon cut him out sooner rather than later, because Knox just became an unknown to me.
So yeah... ALL of that was to say that Chad was emerging as a huge strategic threat aside from his challenge prowess. So he had to go. And I'm glad we had the firepower to do it. I think his leaving settles Bree and Starr a lot more...especially since Starr is on everyone's minds. I believe this frees up Gloria, and since Gloria hates Bree, that's good for us. And I think without numbers, Liam just doesn't have the strategic chops to pull anything out. Though I'm not discrediting anyone. Still so much left.
